Truth

It really is true that if people want to be a part of your life and they want you in theirs they will make it happen. I'm realizing this a lot in the past couple of months. How much do you try to work things out with people before you just smile and walk away? People that you know care because they show they care. They make the time for you and you make the time for them. There is a balance. I've talked to some friends and of course my mom about it and I really feel like I need to start focusing my time and surrounding myself with people who up lift me and are people I can depend on, not people who seem to drag me down and don't make an effort. Yesterday was my moms best friends birthday. She got her a gift took it to her house and forgot to leave a note. Later when my mom called her friend she said thank you for the present. There was no card, no way of her knowing it was from my mom. She knew because both her and my mom never forget each others birthdays. After all these years they have stayed friends and make an effort. They do what it takes to stay in the other persons life. They do it because they want to, because they care about the other person. They know their life is better with that person in it. I want to start being a more dependable person for those people in my life that have really been there for me when I've needed it most. They are the ones that want me to be there for them. I want to be there for them. I want to have that balance. So, maybe, for some people and situations I do just need to smile and walk away. Doing that will allow me to focus more on the ones that won't smile and walk away from me.

  1. That's really a sweet story about your mom's birthday and her friend. Thanks for the great reminder... I seriously need to work on that
