Thanksgiving

I wanted to think of one thing I am Thankful for every day in November, I just haven't yet. I think I am going to set aside time to do just that. I will write the list later. This year was a small group of all adults, no kids. It was very different than years in the past. I liked this years Thanksgiving. I got to spend it with some of my family that will not be here next year and I was glad for that. Neither of my brothers were there and that is never easy for me. I love my brothers, and not being a part of each others life is difficult for me. I don't think that will ever not be difficult for me. I have been blessed with a close extended family that I see all the time. We have made a real effort to stay in each others lives and for that I am grateful.

I wanted to make my first pie this year. Me and my mom made an apple pie from scratch, that's right, made it from scratch. There was no buying pre made crust or anything. We might have been a little over the top this year with our pie excitement, ( putting that we are thankful for flaky pie crust in the thankful jar ) but dang was it good.  I think it was a huge success. I am glad I got to spend time with my mom in the kitchen. I'm home alone tonight and I've been thinking of a lot of things. ( I am trying my hardest to wait and not decorate the house for Christmas just yet ). I really do have lots to be thankful for. Perspective is everything and I'm glad I have lots to consider a blessing in my life!
